The Last Televised Service in The Crystal Cathedral

Offering the very last Protestant benediction in what was the Crystal Cathedral

I heard that I was on the Hour of Power today.  A few months ago I participated in the very last Protestant service to ever be held in what is now the "Christ Cathedral" and they finally aired it today.  I had the honor of delivering the last benediction.  It's final.  From here on out the new congregation, "Shepard's Grove" will televise and show services from a new location which happens to be right down the street from Christ Cathedral.   The move happened about three months ago.   I'm sure that the congregation; many of you, are worried, scared, anxious, or confused regarding the future of the global ministry that has been affecting millions for good for almost 40 years.  Here's the good news:  God is in control so "be strong and courageous."
For the next few weeks I will be sharing parts of my latest book, "When You're Down To Nothing, God Is Up To Something."  He is always up to something, and it will be good.
"Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you;  he will never leave you nor forsake you."  Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.  The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."         Deuteronomy 31:6-8
If was a full house for the last CC service

*Please plan on joining my wife, Donna and I at 6pm Pacific time on the 15th of each and every month for "The Call."  We conduct a telephone service where we pray together, read scripture, hear a brief topical message, and take call-in questions.  The subject for October 15th will be "Be Transformed By The Renewing Of Your Mind" based on the scripture found in Romans 12:2.  My guest will be the esteemed Dr. Daniel Amen of the Amen Clinics.  He is a very well-known brain specialist and psychiatrist. He will share how to keep our brains young and renewed!   To read more about Dr. Amen you can click here
To access The Call at 6pm Pacific Time on the 15th of October (or any month) please dial:  530-881-1300  When prompted enter this code:  642848#  Invite anyone you know who could use some mid-month inspiration.

Stay strong and courageous,  God is blessing you.   Pastor Robert Schuller II (aka R2)

  1. R2? I like that!

Saw you on the last broadcast this morning and I was moved as you gave your dad's benediction.

Wish you, Bobby and your whole family the very best in the new church move and in everything else.

    Blessings, R99

  2. I woke up earlier than usual yesterday and tho' I do not watch much TV and never early mornings, I did yesterday here in Canada! And HoP was on and I saw it was last service at CC. Your heartfelt final benediction there was so moving for me as for many. Seeing you and Bobby nearby his Dad after a wonderful service was so uplifting.

Your new book brings back memories of you saying slowly once at the end of a sermon, "When you are down to nothing...." and the congregation ended as you had said earlier in your sermon "God is up to something"! Will be Gr8 to read some excerpts over next weeks.

    God is Blessing all, always

  3. I was moved to tears when I watched the service.
You read the scripture passage with a lot of feeling.
I could see that you were also moved during the benediction.
    God bless you.
